Snow activities other than skiing?
I’m taking my bf to "see" some snow for the weekend. We’re thinking of staying at Jindabyne, NSW. We’re not planning on skiing or snowboarding due to very limited budget.
What other activities are there? What about tobogganing?
Any ideas?
You could try XC skiing – bushwalking on skis. Wilderness Sports and Paddy Pallin in Jindabyne will hire gear. It is a lot cheaper than lift served sliding.
If there is enough snow Perisher has a tube park, where you slide down a track on an inner tube sort of thing.
Tobogganning is downright dangerous. There is nothing between the base of your spine and a hard place.
At Thredbo you can ride the chair to the top and fool around. Dress warm.

to me it seems like there’s only skiing and snowboarding because when I went with my family 6 months ago…there were only those so we decided to leave..

If you can budget for it, plan to do skiing or boarding for a coulple -3 days or so at least. It will make the experience of seeing and experiencing snow soo much more worthwhile. If you are going all the way down to that area then you might as well spend a little bit more for it. Why do you think there are so many ski fields and so few tobogganing fields in the world?? they are great sports and sooooo much fun!!!!
however, if budgeting and good times are not your thing then try using garbage bags as a toboggan, or ice skating, or even mountain biking in the snow is pretty spectacular.
Have fun <3 the snow!

You would have to travel to Bullocks Flat then take the Snow Tube up to Perisher and on to Blue Cow you can Snow Board or just watch others it is a great day to spend. The train or snow tube is in itself just fun to travel on ~~
